Acer palmatum  ‘Beni Hime’

This is one of the smallest of the Japanese maples growing extremely slowly to about 24” and with a spreading canopy of about 3’. It prefers full sun to partial shade and can easily live to 60 yrs or more.

It’s diminutive size makes it perfect for containers and adds interest all year, with leaves that start out bright pinkish red then fade to green in summer, until the fall when the entire plant turns raspberry and purple. This colourful specimen is perfect for the small garden or collector’s garden.

Hardy to zone 6b  (may need some winter protection.)
